Excerpts from Bylaws: Article III Section 2
The Section Service Award is presented by a Section in recognition of outstanding service to the Section, principally of a non-technical nature, that has significantly furthered the purpose of the Society continuously over a number of years in various programs and activities.
Emeritus Fellow or Member
- A Fellow Emeritus or Member Emeritus shall be not less than 60 years of age and shall have paid dues to the Society continuously for 30 years, including a total of 15 as a Member or Fellow.
- In exceptional instances, the Board of Directors may, at its discretion, waive such numbers of years, when: A Fellow or Member, having retired from regular occupation in business or profession, has performed such distinguished or meritorious service for the Society, as to be conferred the appropriate title by a 2/3 vote of the Board of Directors.*
- Upon such designation by the Board of Directors, a Fellow or Member Emeritus shall be exempt from payment or dues and retain the same respective priveleges as Fellow or Member.
- *If applying under paragraph 2, please submit a record of membership, your retirement status, offices held at Section level, Regional Director and Director terms, committee chairmanships and participation, IIDA, DSA, and Medal awards, papers, patents, plus any other services to the Society.
