IESNA Medal Award

Recipients

The IESNA MEDAL shall be awarded for the purpose of giving recognition to meritorious technical achievement that has conspicuously furthered the profession, art or knowledge of illuminating engineering. Accomplishments shall be in the field of engineering, design, applied illumination, optics, ophthalmology, lighting, research or education.

QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates need not be members of the IESNA.

PROCEDURES
All nominations must be submitted completely filled out on the IESNA Medal nomination form and must be accompanied by four other letters from individuals supporting the nomination. Form available from IESNA office and Section 5-3 ­ 5-6 of the Section Handbook.

The letters should include details of the candidate's accomplishments relative to the criteria of the Award. The Medal Award Committee evaluates a candidate on the information submitted.

The deadline for the receipt of the five documents at IESNA office is January 31. Nominations received after that date will be held for consideration the following year. The Chief Proposer will be advised on or about June 1 regarding the results of the nomination.

THE AWARD
The award consists of a two and one-half inch diameter medal and a framed scroll outlining reasons for the nominee selection. The Medal and scroll are presented at the IESNA Annual Conference.
